Bruckner Chase is a husband, athlete, coach, speaker and writer.  He holds a degree in Exercise Science and has been a personal trainer and swim coach at the age group, high school and Masters levels.  Currently Bruckner works with South Jersey beach patrols helping their guards improve their ocean swimming.  Bruckner is also the Swimming & Ocean Sports Editor for Liberty Sports Magazine in Philadelphia. 

On land he has competed as a professional triathlete and an ultra-distance runner, but more recently he has returned to the sea as a waterman and marathon swimmer.  Although still a competitive athlete, Bruckner’s focus is to bring people more in-touch with the natural waters around them.  An aborted English Channel attempt in 2006 reminded him that “Not finishing” is not the same as failing, and a lifetime of working with new athletes has been a constant reminder that one’s first 5k can be as life changing and challenging as someone else’s Ironman.
