On August 24 at 4:00 AM I will be hitting the water at Main Beach in Santa Cruz and begin a 25 mile solo swim across
our National Marine Sanctuary-Monterey Bay to San Carlos Beach Park in Monterey.
We need your help to make all this happen. Marathon swims are not only an incredible physical challenge, but they also require extensive logistical planning and a support crew on boats, in the water and on land. I am receiving logistical and equipment support from our partners, but I still need assistance with the financial costs associated with the swim and outreach initiatives. I would like to invite you to become part of helping us make this happen. Michelle and I believe that our greatest opportunity to connect people to our oceans is through swims across amazing bodies of water such us our National Marine Sanctuary-Monterey Bay. Connecting people to the oceans is also about creating opportunities to share what we do and bring people into the water. Through the Ocean City Swim Club we are growing an ocean conscious group of athletes in South Jersey. Through work training various South Jersey Beach Patrols I am making our beaches safer, and through presentations at local clubs and businesses I am telling our stories from the water to encourage others to reflect on their connection to the oceans.
Swims such as Monterey Bay can cost a few thousand dollars to organize and execute.
If you have an interest in helping me positively impact how we all feel and think about the oceans your donation in any amount will keep that initiative going.
Thank you for thinking about how your life impacts the oceans and for taking daily steps to make those impacts positive.
